1. What's a virtual village?       
 
A vitual village is an organization of members and volunteers which provides services members want and need so that they can remain at home as long as possible, maintaining independence, and being actively engaged in local civic and cultural activities.

2. When did Methow At Home begin offering services to Members?
 
December 1st, 2015. 

3. How does Methow At Home work with existing service organizations?     

Methow At Home will work closely with other service organizations in the Valley to fill some of the needs that are not currently being met and to refer its members to other organizations when needed.
4. What services will be provided?     

The array of programs and services in Methow At Home will be based on member needs and preferences and will include things like:
  • Transportation to medical appointments, shopping, errands, social and educational events
  • Household support including minor handyman services, light housekeeping, light gardening or snow shoveling

  • Personal support including pet walking, social support with a home visit, meal preparation, temporary respite care and help de-cluttering

  • Technical support for PC's or Mac's and other electronics, bill paying assistance
  • Referral to vetted professionals (paid by the members directly) such as handymen, plumbers, and electricians when the requested service is beyond the scope of a volunteer
  • Sponsorship of educational activities such as speakers on topics of interest to members
  • Social events, walking opportunities, potlucks, and more!

5.  What does it cost?    


Membership dues are $300 per year for an individual, $456 per year for a two person household at the same address.

6.   Is Membership cost assistance available?

       Yes, Methow At Home has received donations from individuals and grants from the Community Foundation of North Central Washington to support full or partial memberships for those who otherwise would not be able to afford the dues.
